Gary Walker

WALKER, Gary, 72 of Valrico, Fla. passed away at Tampa General Hospital Wednesday, August 23, 2017. He was born in Harrisburg, Ill. on June 26, 1945 to the late Leighman and Helen Walker. After 25 years of service from GTE in 1996, he consulted in the communications field another 15 years before permanently retiring. Gary dedicated his life to his family. He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was married to former Martha Hill on October 30, 1962, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Lance (Brenda) Walker of Dallas, Tx. and Eric (Shelley) Walker of Valrico, Fla.; five grandchildren, Garyt (Lauren) Walker, Luke (Crystal) Walker, Weston Walker, David Walker, Riley Walker; two great grandchildren, Duke Walker and Diana Walker. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
