CATES, Elsie Mae, 86, of Riverview entered into rest July 23, 2016. She was born in Auburn, Ky. on April 11, 1930.She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin “Buz” Cates; parents, J.R. and Nora Hughes; brothers, Morris, Bobby, Paul; grandson, Justin Cates. Survivors include her sons, Donald L. Cates, Gary W. Cates Sr. (Lucy); daughter, Teresa Buday; brother, Buddy Hughes (Faye) of Scottsville, Ky.; seven wonderful grandchildren; 12 fabulous great-grandchildren. A beloved wife, mother, mema, and great-grandmother Elsie was blessed with a family that loves her dearly. She has left beautiful memories, her love will guide us and she will always be in our hearts. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
