Dear Elijah my nephew,

It will be 10yrs on 3/27/2023 since you left us.  I wonder what life would have been like if you were still with us...married, with children and living your life. You were our first born grand child in our family and we miss your dearly! 💙

I hope and pray justice will be served on your behalf and our family.  I hope the person responsible finds the Lord. I had to learn about the healing powers of forgiveness, which is 3 layers deep. Hope ForThe Heart Ministries helps people in their grief and healing journey. I am sad you did not get a chance to meet your other cousins...Britni, Kristin, Ryan, Joshua and Jonathan.

I hope you accepted Jesus in your heart before you left us so that one day we will see you in heaven.

I miss you & love you! I think about you everyday!!!!  My heart breaks to have you with me & nana misses you immensely! May you RIP! My only child ELIJAH.

Eli's soul is at peace now and I hope to see him one day in paradise!  In the meantime, his memory is alive in my heart every day...

To Beth, Marcia & family who loved him, I think of you often and keep you in my prayers daily. I pray the pain fades in time and your memories give you strength.  After a year, words cannot adequately express our grief, our depth of loss...but God knows every tear that falls and I believe that somehow Elijah knows every time a memory we've shared with him makes us smile or even laugh out loud.

Eli would want us to keep on smiling, keep laughing, keep living.

I can't believe it's true. Even though we haven't talked in a while I always expected him to call me one day or I call him and we start hanging out again like we never missed a beat. Time has its way of being very cruel.

With Eli, I've laughed the hardest, loudest, and longest I had in years. His sense of humor and antics were like no other and that's what we always loved about him. Even now, thinking of some of the stuff him and I did brings a big smile to my face. He had a lasting impact on Michelle and I and he will be sorely missed. These memories are the ones that I will cherish for the rest of my life. 

I know you're there in spirit Eli. I know you and Aaron are hanging out up there. I'll see you again some day.

I am deeply sorry to Eli's family for the loss of a clever, funny and deep soul that left a permanent mark on my life.  I am sincerely grateful for all of my time with Elijah.  He loved surfing, boarding, adventure/travel, day-trading & me.  

Eli, I will never forget our steak & asparagus dinners, those mornings you brought me coffee in bed, the times you bought meals for homeless and hurting people that we came across over the years.  You could have a very kind and generous heart, and you loved meeting new people.  I will miss you pulling me out of a chair in to your arms for a spontaneous waltz or tango across the living room; you could really dance!
I was initially attracted to the way you could make me smile, never short on humor and generally at ease with yourself in conversation.  
When you were next to me, all was right in my world and we could go anywhere together!

Most of all, you taught me that in life, sometimes one has to take a chance.  

I will treasure our memories; they are many and broad.  
You will live as part of my soul forever.
