affectionately called in her younger days, was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived there for many
years, before moving full-time to Tampa, FL. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Mathematics from Temple University and her Masters of Education Degree from Trenton State
College also known as the College of New Jersey. She focused her professional life on teaching
mathematics to middle school students in the Philadelphia public school system.
Dottie enjoyed learning about science of all kinds, especially weather. There were many
summer family vacations to the Jersey shore and road trips across the country to see most
states and remote areas up into Canada. She enjoyed being creative with different crafts by
making beaded jewelry and silk flower arrangements. She liked transcendental meditation. She
definitely enjoyed shopping at some favorite shops and eating at some favorite restaurants.
Her parents, Helene & Leslie Young predeceased her as did her darling dogs, Snooki and
Apollo. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years Walter H Scott of Tampa, her
daughters Deborah Wyko of Tampa and Janet Scott of Golden, along with her granddaughter
Karrie Musa of Delray Beach, grandsons Kevin Wyko of Wesley Chapel, and Kenneth Wyko of
Tampa, and great-grandchildren Marc Anthony, Annabelle and Stella Musa of Delray Beach.
A family memorial service was privately held on Saturday, March 30. Dorothy loved dogs. The
family requests that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States
