Donas Ray Garrett (Don), was born September 23, 1931 in Glasgow, West Virginia. He went to be with the Lord April 18, 2018. His parents were Welba and William Garrett. His mother was a house wife. His father was a minister and a contractor. Don would often assist his father in home building. He was saved at the age of five years old and moved to Florida in 1947. He worked for a pest control company for many years before purchasing VaccinolPest Control in 1974. He married Wanda Ferguson on November 7, 1975. They managed Vaccinol Pest Control until 1986 when they sold it to retire. Around 1986, he and Wanda began attending First Free Will Baptist Church of Seffner. In 1991, his daughter Tia was born. In 2001, they moved to Columbia, Tennessee where they lived for a year and a half before returning back to Florida. Don went back to work, with his wife, at Seffner Christian Academy during his daughters’high school years. Don was able to watch his daughter graduate High School in 2010, was able to walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day in 2013, and watch her graduate College in 2015. Don loved to see people laugh and enjoy life. He is well known for his many jokes and storytelling. As a young man, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He could fix anything and enjoyed tinkering in the shed. Don is survived by his wife Wanda Garrett, his daughter Tia Albano, his step-son Ricky Helton, Kimberly, his sister Jeanette, his sister Sarah-Lee, his sister Dottye, and his brother Marv, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the boys and girls club of Temple Terrace.
