FAIRBURN, Don, 70, of Valrico, died November 30, 2012. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving two bronze stars with valor while serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Sergeant Major after 26 years of service. Donald retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department after 19 years of service, which included being a Resource Officer at Bloomingdale High School. Donald is survived by Linda, his devoted wife of 52 years, daughters; Ira Christine Pearce (Craig), Sheireen Pananganan (Norman), grandson, Jayson Pearce, and sister, Frances Fairburn. A visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2012 and a funeral service 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Stowers Funeral Home. Interment will follow service at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center.
