

Clarence Darrow Thornton son of Clarence Thornton Jr. and the late Junita Thornton was born February 22, 1960, in the Brooklyn Hospital located in Brooklyn, New York. Clarence passed away on March 31st, 2025, at the age of 65, joining his mother and daughter in death.
Clarence was raised in Lindsay Park Coop in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. Clarence attended Elementary school at P.S. 250, Intermediate school at I.S. 318 and High School at Boys and Girls High before transferring to Erasmus Hall High School located in Brooklyn New York. In his senior year of high school, Clarence was named as one of the top high school basketball players at the guard position in the City of New York. After graduating from high school, Clarence received an Athletic scholarship to play basketball at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York.
Clarence loved basketball and enjoyed playing in all of the major tournaments throughout New York City. He also enjoyed spending time with his Lindsay Park family and former basketball teammates. "C-Moe" was friend and Big Brother to many. Clarence was a kind and caring individual who touched the hearts of those around him and his impact on the lives he touched will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Clarence is survived by his father Clarence; brother Channing (Lolitta); son Clarence Darrow; daughter Jade; nephew Channing (Dominique); niece Jalissa (Jermaine); grandsons Xavier, Royal, Jestin, Clarence Darrow; aunts Daisy (Johnnie), Jewelt (Harry), Devrow (Clevelyn), Janice, Delphine; uncles Guy, Woodrow Jr, Victor(Sheila); cousins; godmother; god-sisters and many loving friends.
A celebration of life for Clarence will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida.
