Today is a sad day. We lost Cookie due to heart failure, cancer and other multiple organs failure. We got married on July 11, 1964 and she blessed me with 2 wonderful daughters, Dawn Hulting (married to Chris Hulting) and Darci Warren. We have 3 beautiful grandkids, Kali Hulting, Taylor Fulkerson (married to Cameron Fulkerson), and Levi Warren, as well as one 2yr old great granddaughter Brinley Fulkerson.
Cookie always approached life with love for others, generosity for everyone, and kindness for all. She had a love of sports from the time she was a kid and was always involved in one way or another. She played basketball and softball in school. She spent 24 years as a Special Olympics coach at the Village of Progress in Oregon, IL. She loved each one of her athletes and referred to them as “her kids.” Childhood friends and classmates are still loved by this family and have remained in our hearts regardless of where we are.
When it comes to golf, well, she loved golf almost as much as life itself. When someone asked, “Do you want to play golf?” Her answers were always the same. “Where?” “What’s our tee time?” and “Goodbye Bill I’m going golfing.” The last few years, she played 2-5 times a week, all winter, in Florida or anywhere we went the rest of the year. Then, it was “Call the kids so we can go out to dinner tonight.”
Today heaven gained an angel! She’s now home with Jesus! We love you Cookie and will miss you dearly!
