Armando D. Ruiz (72), of El Paso Texas and longtime Valrico resident, passed away on November 14, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Eva, children Daniel, David, Laura (their spouses) and 8 grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband and a proud father and grandfather. Enjoyed spending time with his family, relaxing on his lakefront deck and working on his home projects. Additionally, he was a fitness enthusiast who spent his time playing racquetball, biking, riding jet skis, and recently started playing pickleball.
He was very active in the community and over the years he volunteered his time working with the Lake Valrico Homeowners Association, a Board member of the Brandon Family YMCA, Springfield College, Tampa Campus, and St. Petersburg Catholic Diocese.
Armando graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1975. In his early career, he worked for the Goodyear Tire Company before venturing into selling land plots at Horizon Properties. He joined the Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1976 and moved to Peoria, Illinois for training before he was assigned to a Caterpillar Dealership in Florida. After a few years with the company, it was time to relocate again however, he and Eva decided that they did not want to leave the Tampa Bay area. Soon after he started his Real Estate career which he loved and worked for over 30 years. He was a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) broker associate and was a member of the Florida Association of Realtors and held a seat on the Florida
Realtors Ethics Committee
A funeral service for Armando will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL
33511.
The Celebration of Life will be from 12 PM to 2 PM at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
