Alvin Alfred Wilkerson

WILKERSON, Alvin A., 73, entered into rest on July 14, 2017. He was born on March 12, 1944 in Tampa, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia, whom he loved dearly and always made sure to put her first above all else, son, Alvin, Jr. of Riverview and daughter, Cheryl (Pete) Rifner of Bradenton, two sisters, Barbara Tucker of Kentucky and Joyce Dunson of Valrico, three grandsons, Peter Rifner, Jr., Justin Rifner (Harloe), and Gerald Rifner of Bradenton, and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon where he worked in the kitchen for many years. He was retired from Florida Steel and loved going fishing, hunting, camping and going to the beach. He also enjoyed doing crafts. He was a very loving family man and enjoyed spending time with his family as well as his extended family and his beloved parakeets, Buddy and Missy and his cats Boots and Mittens. He was loved very much and will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 20 at Stowers Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation for family and friends an hour prior to and a private family graveside committal will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
