Peter was born in Jersey City and a longtime resident of Sussex County. He proudly served the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War. Peter worked as an Electrician at Yard’s Creek for JCP&L for many years.
Peter was a proud member of the American Legion for 49 years where he accomplished numerous achievements. He started at Post 86 in Newton, NJ in 1973, then transferred to Post 157 in Branchville, NJ in 1985. Some of his roles were Post Commander, County Commander, and Department of New Jersey Vice-Commander. Peter was also very active with New Jersey Boys State for more than 30 years.
On May 27, 1967 Peter married Joanne (Mautone) they spent 53 years together with their children and grandchildren. Peter’s memory will live on with his loving wife, Joanne; daughter, Debra Grifone (Varsalona) and her husband, Marty, with their children Derek and Meghan; son, Anthony and his wife, Megan, with their child Colin; daughter, Danielle and her partner, Thomas Mendal. He was preceded in death by his sister, Angel Siekers, and has two surviving sisters, Carol Corby and Johanna Scouras.
