Born in Newton, "J.J." was raised in Frankford Township where he had been a lifetime resident.
The son of the late Elmer Jay Spangenberg, Sr. (2009), "J.J." is survived by his loving mother, Betsy Spangenberg, of the Culver Lake section of Frankford Township; his brother, Jerry Spangenberg, of Hampton Township; his sister, Randi-Lynn Oczkowski, of Branchville; as well as four nephews and two nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the Delaware Valley United Methodist Church, 131 County Road 645, Sandyston.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville.
