Dottie was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She married Karl Danzer in 1950, and they settled in West Orange prior to moving to Branchville in 1959 when they purchased Wood Funeral Home. Along with raising their three daughters, they became active community members and developed many lifelong Branchville friends.
Dottie was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a 25-year member and former secretary of the Tri-County Funeral Directors Association. Dottie was named 2005 Branchville Senior Citizen of the Year. She also enjoyed playing cards with the Branchville Card Girls.
Dottie’s true legacy is her family. She nurtured all the generations with love, care, and support.
Dottie was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Mary Rogers, and her husband, Karl Danzer. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Worthington and husband, Richard; Diane Gill and husband, John; and Emily Wood and husband, Kevin; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
