She was born to Maria Jesus Cardenas Vargas and Rosendo Gomez Gonzales on October 30th 1947. Born and raised in Medellin Colombia and later moved to Toronto Canada to start a new life and a family.
Nelly loved spending time in the kitchen making her famous Soupa De Papita con Huevo, Bandeja Paisa, and Empanadas Colombianas. She always knew this was the way to get us all in the same place as a family.
She was a wonderful Mother and Wilita who was always there when we needed her the most. Offering us support, wisdom, and love in abundance.
Nelly leaves behind her beautiful children Karen, Hector, and Jessica as well as her grandchildren Erika Daniela, Sebastian Alonso, Tatyana Valentina, and Olivia Emma.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts forever.
