It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Maureen Alice Ritchie on March 16, 2023 at home with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Mansel Ritchie. Loving mother to Irene (Dan Phillips), Colin Ritchie (Jennifer), and Andrew Ritchie (Annette). Cherished Granny to Marie, Karen, Tina, Krystle, Tanya, and Magnus. Great-Granny to Devon, Sofia, Adrian, and Roman. Dear sister to the late Winnie Borland, and Pat Thomson.
She was born on December 3, 1934 to Peter and Mary Borland (nee Fraser), in Aberdeen, Scotland, emigrating to Canada in 1969.
She was an avid knitter and baker and adored her collies. Maureen loved travelling, especially with her late husband Mansel.
Maureen was strong, independent, would help anyone, but most importantly, family was everything. She will be missed dearly by the lives that she touched. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
