It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the Watt family announce the peaceful passing of Mary Margaret Watt in Toronto, on May 12, 2017, with her children by her side. Mary was predeceased by William her devoted husband of almost 60 years and is survived by her children Carolyn, Kenneth and David, daughter-in-law Julia Purdy, and her grandchildren Emma, Adeline and Iain. Memories of Mary will be held in the hearts of surviving sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary was a very loving and dedicated mother to 3 active children who spent many hours supporting their many organizations and teams in baton, hockey, soccer, etc. Mary was also very active in social events in and around the Bramalea area, including memberships in the Scottish and Celtic social clubs, and many friends groups including women’s golf leagues, bridge clubs and craft making classes. Many thanks are extended to the many doctors, nurses and staff of Lakeshore Lodge Long Term Care Home (2N); Brampton Day Centre, Alzheimer Society of Peel; Brampton Civic Hospital; and St. Joseph’s Health Centre whose combined efforts assisted and supported Mary and family in dealing with the direct and indirect symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Family and friends may gather at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre - 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton (North of Steeles Avenue) 905-456-8190, on May 24, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
