It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Liza Sampang, who departed this life at the age of 67, surrounded by her beloved family at Brampton Civic Hospital and is now reunited with her loving husband Narciso Sampang with whom she was married to for 40 years.
Born to Rafael and Lolita Ocampo, Liza immigrated to Canada in 1979, planting deep roots in the community she would call home for over four decades. Her house in Brampton was more than a residence—it became a warm, welcoming haven for all who entered, especially for her children and the many people she embraced with love and generosity.
Liza had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Her passion for cooking and baking was not just about delicious meals, but about creating moments of joy, laughter, and connection around the table. Her warmth, kindness, and ability to make others feel seen and valued will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Her loving children survive Liza: Maricris Sampang-Sison (Ajax, ON), Dominic Sampang (Brampton, ON), and Denise Sampang (Brampton, ON), as well as her devoted son-in-law, Kenneth Sison (Ajax, ON). She was the proud and doting grandmother to Thaddeus Sison and Maxwell Sison of Ajax, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Rolex Ocampo, Ramon Ocampo, and Lily Tabugan, and Lourdes Alminiana and Rolando Ocampo, both of the Philippines.
Liza's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and unshakable family spirit will continue to shine brightly in all the lives she touched.
