Jan Simon Sevenster

Beloved husband to Johanna Maria for over 67 years.

Loving dad to Yolanda (Paul Hales), Linda Sevenster, Patty Sevenster, Kathy (David Jarvis), Annette (Charlie Jarvis), Peggy (Tommy McKinnon) and Paul Sevenster (Diana Kues). Cherished Opa to Candace, Heather, Colin, Amanda, Joshua, Tiffany, Andrew, Danielle, Ashley, David, Hayley, Douglas, Daniel, Abby, and Zoe and Great Grandfather to Kendrick, Oliver, Dakota, Elijah, Sadie, Oliver, Finnley and Ciara.

Jan had a long and eventful life, being witness to many historic events during his 95 years, from experiences during the World War to raising a family, all the way to the Leaf’s winning the cup in 1967. As he was a big Leaf’s fan, he would have been very excited.

Jan was also a handyman and could fix or make almost anything anyone needed. He was always there if a family member or a neighbor needed help and was eager to put his years of welding experience to good use.

His love of his family, the outdoors, and of sports has always been present, especially with hockey and even more so with soccer. If Jan was not working around the house or out walking his dog in the forest, he would never miss an opportunity to enjoy a good soccer match even in his later years.

Jan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
