Born on September 10th, 1941 in Bude, Cornwall (U.K.) to Gordon and Pauline Tucker, Jacqueline emigrated to Canada in the 1960’s with her friends Margaret and Gloria.
She married Peter on April 26th, 1974, and they embarked on a thirteen-month motorcycle tour of Europe before returning home.
Jacqueline continued to lead a full and varied life in the decades that followed.
Working as a payroll administrator, school bus driver, and floral designer, Jacqueline also volunteered with St. Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church, the Chinguacousy Garden Club, the Learning Disabilities Association of Peel, and the local senior’s home.
Jacqueline’s interests included her beloved and ever-growing garden, hiking with the Happy Hoofers hiking club for more than 25 years, travel, cuisines of the world, folk art painting, lawn bowling, and all things British, from tea to murder mysteries to the royals.
Jacqueline enjoyed many adventures during her life. After her emigration and honeymoon, she also experienced dog sledding, hiked from sea-to-sea across the UK, hiked across Ontario on the Trans-Canada trail, learned to canoe, and visited countless places both in Canada and around the world.
Jacqueline will be remembered for her many wonderful qualities: her empathy and compassion, her tenacity, her gentle sense of humour, her positivity, her loyalty to her friends, her dependability and thoroughness, the gifts and notes she took the time to give to those around her, and her smile which brightened the lives of her family and friends.
Jacqueline was a loving mother to Saul and Ivannah, and a cherished grandmother to Owen, Ridley, Amaya, and Layla. She is survived by her brother Andrew and his wife Jane, and will be fondly remembered by her niece Katharine and nephew Stephen. She will dwell forever in the heart and mind of her husband, Peter.
