Hector is survived by his spouse Alba Perez, his siblings, his daughter Albita Perez Zuniga (Omar Zuniga) and his grandchildren Brianna and Emilio.
Hector was born on February 28, 1937, in Patate, a small town in the Tungurahua province of Ecuador to Silvestre and Rosario.
Hector migrated to Canada in 1970. He helped sponsor many family members and friends settle in Canada. He was a hardworking man who travelled frequently back to Ecuador.
After retirement, Hector moved in with his daughter and contributed to the upbringing of his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Hector will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbour. He was always open to listening and offering advice and words of wisdom. A loyal and invaluable member of his family's life. He was the shining light that helped guide others.
