Fernando Barros Pires

Fernando was a devoted husband to Claudia and a loving father to Frida, Bianca, and Sabrina. Born on May 1, 1968, in Montealegre, Portugal, he immigrated to Canada at a very young age. He joined a Portuguese folklore dance group in his twenties, where he made many lifelong friends.

Fernando was always known for his sense of humour, enthusiasm, and helpful nature. He will be remembered for his hard work, the letters he wrote, the friends he made, the people he brought together, and the laughter he created. Even during difficult times, he remained amusingly stubborn. Fernando enjoyed fishing, golfing, soccer, road trips with his family and was an Ottawa Senators fan. The spring and summer seasons were his favorites, always looked forward to the longer days and nights that would be spent with us. He loved celebrating the holidays with family and looked forward to visiting the beach every year.

He will be deeply missed. His love and the joy he spread will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A visitation for Fernando will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral will occur Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church, 290 Balmoral Dr, Brampton, ON L6T 1V6. Followed by a celebration of life gathering in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
