Predeceased by her beloved husband Ian "John" Black. She will be greatly missed by her children Patricia “Pat” (Federico), Michele, and step-children Cindi and Johnny. Cherished by her grandchildren Christopher (Sandy), Stacey (Robert), Eric (Erin), Megan (David), Darryl, Michael, Crystal and Steven. She was adored by her great grandchildren Russell, Cyrus, Soraya, Cedric, Felix, and Dolores. Predeceased by siblings Joan, Ken, and Shirley. Survived by Lois, Loyal, Bob and Brenda.
Throughout her life, she was an active and giving member of the community. She enjoyed volunteering at the senior’s center, and at church. She was a strong spirit and a brave voice in difficult times, a cheerleader to her grandchildren and quick to support a good cause. Dorothy was a welcoming face to those that knew her. She brought joy and entertainment to those around her with her whimsical humor and sharp wit. She had a fondness for her Meaford cottage and the friends she made there. She especially delighted in being with her great grandchildren, family, and her little dogs.
She will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to join Dorothy's family at Andrew's Community Funeral Centre 8190 Dixie Rd, Brampton on Tuesday July 9th. Visitation is from 9:30-11:30. Chapel Service and Reception at 11:30. Interment at 2:30 at Sanctuary Park Cemetery.
