Jill, I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss.  My thoughts are with you.  Dan was such a wonderful man that I had worked with at AZ.  Please accept my condolences... with Deepest Sympathy!

Dan was an absolute gem of an individual.  I used to enjoy our discussions after work at the gym when we would talk about work and life.  He never spoke ill of anyone.  I have missed his presence since he left AZ and was immensely saddened to hear that he left us so early in his life.  My condolences to his family.

Jill, My thoughts are with you and your family thought this difficult time.  I Believe Dan took great joy in helping others and was so respected because of this.  Hopefully you can take a small measure of comfort in the knowledge that so many of us are sharing your grief over the loss of someone who has touched all of us in such a positive way.

Dan was one of those people that you instantly liked. I remember the first time he called me looking for a job. He called me every week after that for 2 months. He was so positive and genuine that I hired him. I actually missed his calls after that but we laughed about that for years. He will be missed. Our sincerest condolences to your family.

I worked with Dan at AZ IS for about 5 years. He was such a kind and patient man. I will never forget the sincere words of encouragement he shared with me when I left AstraZeneca. My deepest condolences to his family and the many, many people who will surely miss him.

Dan was definitely one of those people that you feel richer and better for having met and gotten to know. He is one of those people who you sometimes think of in the middle of the day just because a thought association brought him to mind, and you stop and hope that he is doing well. I was devastated to hear that he had been fighting and that I had not known and been able to send a message of support. 

I do not know his family, and all I can do is assure them that Dan left a positive footprint where he walked, that he made our lives better by being a part of them, even if only for a time. 

I lost my Father to cancer many years ago, and I understand how the grieving starts long before their time to go, and yet how it continues long after their departure. I also understand the bittersweet feeling that his suffering has ended, but the agony of the profound loss.
