Daisy was born in Gooseberry Island, Bonavista, NL to Joseph and Gladys Wells on December 16th, 1929. She was a devoted wife to Almond Scott Campbell, who was 11 years older and predeceased her in 2013 at the age of 94. After their marriage, they settled in Deer Lake, NL, the hometown of the Campbells. To continue raising their growing family, they moved to Ontario in the 1960’s. Daisy had a large, loving family of 9 children survived by Ada, Donna, Scott, Kate, Beulah, Pearl and Richard. Preceding her in death are her son, Billy and daughter, Caroline. She had 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren who all held a special place in her heart.
Daisy outlived her 7 siblings as well as her husband, Scott’s 12 siblings; two of who were 100 and 102 years old. She will be greatly missed by her remaining family and friends who cherish the times they had with her.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 11th at Andrew’s Community Funeral Centre – Bramalea Chapel.
Visitation begins at 10:00am for family, then will open to the public at 10:30 until 11:30am.
The service begins at 11:30am.
Following the service, Daisy will be laid to rest 1:00pm at the Meadowvale Cemetery.
