Micki passed away peacefully at home, after a long and valiant fight against Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born in Ipswich, Suffolk. The second child of a career Royal Navy man and Irish nurse. She was educated at Northgate School in Ipswich and spent her early working life as Tax officer with the Inland Revenue branch of the British Government. In 1957 she married her long time (59years) best friend John. Immediately following the wedding they emigrated to Canada, spending three years in Fredericton, New Brunswick before re-locating to Ontario. In 1964 they bought their first house in Bramalea, where they brought up their two sons, Mark and Philip. Whilst John pursued his avocation in the Military Reserve, Micki ran the household and managed to get involved in many volunteer activities, including Unicef and Oxfam. Her principal volunteer efforts were centered on Peel Memorial Hospital where she was heavily involved with Digital Imaging , the Gift Shop and the Coffee Shop ( Orchard Café). For these efforts she was recognized with a Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club. She was also an avid golfer and curler. She leaves behind her husband John, son Philip and grandsons David and William.
