Grieving with you in the loss of a wonderful man. Uncle Burns has been a part of my life from the beginning and  part of my family's life since we moved to Ontario in 1988. We have always enjoyed the privilege of visiting him and your family many times through the years.

I will forever cherish my last visit with him in the hospital on Oct 20th.  Even being so sick, I am confident he understood when I talked with him about how he would soon be reunited with Aunt Gwen in  heaven. He was nodding in agreement, confirming that was his desire too.

Our hearts will miss him forever, until the day when we can see him again in heaven.

I am keeping you all in prayer as you journey through yet another season of grief.

Susie, Jim, & families:
We are so sad for your loss.  Uncle Burns and Aunt Gwen were very special to our family. Their annual visits to Newfoundland were an opportunity to get together and hear stories and family updates.  And, whenever we were in Ontario we tried to stop by and connect.  

We will always remember Uncle Burns' sense of humor,  his great smile, and the twinkle in his eyes. We are so thankful that in his later years he fully embraced his faith.  I can imagine him, Aunt Gwen, mom(Olive), and dad(Billy) together again in heaven.

Susie, Jim and families.  Thinking of you all at this sad and difficult time.  We have so many good memories of their trips to Newfoundland and visiting with them in Ontario. So glad I got to see him  in August. He will certainly be missed.

Susie, I am so glad we got to have a visit with your Dad and you last year. It meant a lot to us and I think it brought back some nice memories for him. 

Jim, I will always remember the day you drove into Mom's driveway in Hant's Harbour with your Dad a few years ago...it felt like we had a bit of Mom back. The closeness between Mom and your Dad was so strong, you could feel it. Your Dad was so glad that he caught us home and we were thrilled. It was like we turned back the clock for a snippet of time.

Dear Jim, Sue and family,
We are so sorry for your loss.  Burns & Gwen was household name for Dave, Terry, Duane and I growing up.
Visiting your family in Toronto were some very fond childhood memories.
And when your parents visited Pa I could be sure to go to bed with laughter at the card table making it’s way upstairs as 4 lifelong friends reminisced.

I also remember going to visit Mom & Dad after a phone call with your parents. They had shared that they had accepted Christ as their savior and it brought so much joy to them knowing they would all be in heaven together one day! 

I remember my parents crying when they heard the news of Gwen’s passing and Burn’s doing the same when he heard of his best friend Avalon (Tom’s) passing.

Being with my Mom when Burn’s and she  would continue to call each other to keep the memories of their loves alive was a beautiful thing to witness.

I think the greatest thing besides their friendship the four of them shared was their love for their, kids and grandkids. A gift we all can celebrate that some never do.

May you be comforted knowing that your Mom & Dad are together now.

I would also like to picture the four of them sitting around a table together laughing!
God is good!

I have so many great memories of your Dad and Mom and both of you from when we were little and stayed with you inToronto and when you visited here. My dad  and mom thought so much of Burns and Gwen  and spoke of them often .
