Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Carole Baker and his father-in-law Hugh Kunkel. Survived by his beloved wife Debbie for over 41 years. Loving father to Alex (Nikka), Shawn and Sherry. Cherished grandpa to Karli and Jake. Dear brother to Bob and Morgen (Sarah). He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Anne Kunkel, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Barry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an old-fashioned family man who would do anything for his family. To them he dedicated his heart, time and soul, no matter the circumstances. His devotion will remain as an example to us all forever. When he wasn’t working, his time was spent with his family. He was extraordinarily unselfish and sacrificed so much for his family, always encouraging and helping his children to succeed in life and to find happiness. He was a geography, history and weather buff and could talk in great detail on these subjects as we all know. He also enjoyed slapstick comedy and had a dry, yet corny sense of humour. He was a very handy person when it came to fixing things around the house and working on vehicles, he possessed a very strong work ethic.
Barry and Debbie were the loves of each other’s lives. Hopping on Barry’s motorcycle and driving to California for their honeymoon was the start of their journey together.
Though Barry has physically left us, he will always be in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
Donations may be made to the family directly or left at the funeral home where we will forward them to the family.
