He was born in Bradenton, FL on March 19th, 1949. Steve graduated from Southeast High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was married to Sandy Surgnier Battle on March 3rd, 1973.
Steve worked for Florida Power and Light, was past President of Local IBEW 820 and also past President of the System Council of Florida.
He had a passion for his family, music and sports.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy, his daughter Stephanie Mollison (Ki), sons Shane Battle (Ashley Smith), and Scott Battle. He is also survived by one grandson and brother Gary Battle (Lynn)from Murphreesboro, TN.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Friday, Aug. 21 at Manasota Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave E Bradenton, FL 34203. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
