Sam was an accomplished pilot and instructor pilot for small craft airplanes. Hailing from the United States Air Force, his active duty years were spent as part of a Strategical Air Command unit. He specialized in Avionics Electronics during his Active Reserve years, and retired from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Marsh, his parents, Albert and Edith Marsh, and his sister Rebecca Downing. He is survived by his brother, Albert Marsh; his three children, Albert Marsh, Kathleen Potter and Thomas Marsh; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his step-children, Donna Hedges, Charles Reibold, Melodie Ibarra, Jackie Johnson and Johnnie Rodgers, 15 step grandchildren and 25 step great-grandchildren.
