Paul was born in Paterson, NJ, to Paul Hemingway and Lula Morgan on May 30, 1940. He was employed by Smith Industries for about 40 years. He was a member of the Totowa Fire Department and Rockaway Township Birchwood Fire Department for over 20 years as well as served as fire chief. He enjoyed cooking (especially chili), camping, coaching, fishing, mentoring and was a big Yankees fan. He joined the Woodland Community Baptist church upon moving to Bradenton. He enjoyed volunteering for community events and a variety of church events.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Joyce Hemingway, his service dog Buddy, his son Thomas Hemingway and wife Christine, his loving daughters Julie DeLorenzo and husband Rob, and Tracie Kasko and husband Kevin. His ex-wife Judith Hemingway. His grandchildren: Katherine Hemingway, Jennifer Hemingway, Rebecca Hemingway, Thomas Hemingway, Angela DeLorenzo and her fiancé Robert, Brian DeLorenzo, Hunter Kasko, Ryan Jade Kasko, as well as his wife Joyce's family: Stephani, Paul & Allison Derrick, James Morgan and daughter Kyra and her fiancé Jesse.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in NJ and Florida.
