Patricia A. Crowley, age 69, of Sarasota, died on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Ann Roy. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Clare (Hogan) Crowley. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1972. Pat went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and nursing degree in Atlanta, Georgia, and dedicated her career to helping those with mental health issues. She finished her career as the Director of Nursing for Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health, retiring in 2015.
Pat had a passion for traveling and immersing herself in cultures around the world. Pat and Ann traveled as much as they could, though also enjoying their time at home with their dogs and cats. Pat made every house she lived in a true home, and always festively decorated for every holiday. Pat adopted many dogs and cats, particularly defenseless or misunderstood animals like greyhounds and pit bulls. She never passed by a stray without stopping and would keep dog and cat food in her trunk to feed and help any animal in need. They say generosity is giving more than you can, and Pat lived this, seeking out ways she could help her family, friends, and strangers alike. Though she worked tirelessly, often working more than one nursing job at a time, Pat still would take care of others’ bills, medical care, whatever else she could spare. Her efforts to lift others up impacted so many, yet she did it silently, without the hope of praise or recognition. Pat’s many close friends in Sarasota and Boston will also remember her quick wit and unparalleled sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving wife and partner of 40 years, Ann, as well as her three sisters and two brothers: Kathleen C. Sweeney and her partner Paul LeBlanc her children Sean, Christopher, and Eric; Michael A. Crowley and his wife Deborah A., and their children Brendan, Christopher and Ryan; MaryEllen C. Kobierski and her husband Chester and their children Andrew and Alex; Stephen T. Crowley and his wife Laura, and their children Michael, Daniel, Joseph, and John; and her sister Carol J. Condon and her husband James and their children Matthew, Meghan, Michael, and Erin; in addition to many grandnieces and grandnephews.
