Nancy Briggs Fell, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Narragansett, RI, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 20, 2023, from a long illness at the age of 70. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born in Wakefield, RI on June 27, 1952, to her parents, James R. Briggs (deceased), and Louisa B. Briggs, both of Narragansett, RI.
Nancy graduated from Elmhurst Academy of The Sacred Heart in Portsmouth, RI in 1970 and attended the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI.
In August 1973, she married Ogden Mills Fell in a ceremony held at St. Thomas More Church, Narragansett, RI. The couple travelled extensively, living in Woodland Hills, CA, and Oyster Bay, NY, before settling down in Narragansett, RI in 1980. She taught CCD classes at St. Mary’s Star of The Sea Church, Point Judith, RI for many years.
Nancy had been a member of the Dunes Club, Narragansett, RI, the Point Judith Country Club, Point Judith, RI, the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, Centre Island, NY, the Longboat Key Club, Longboat Key, FL and the Tara Golf and Country Club, Bradenton, FL.
The couple relocated to Bradenton, FL in 2018.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ogden, her daughters Sarah D. Fell and Amanda W. Fell, and her son Philip S.P. Fell, II; her sons in law Craig J. DeAugustinis and Thomas J. Vaughn, and her granddaughter Aubrielle M. DeAugustinis. Nancy is also survived by her mother, Louisa B. Briggs, sisters Jamie L. Briggs, Sandra B. Paul, and a brother Jeffrey B. Briggs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of The Angels Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood Ranch, FL on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11 AM. Her burial will be at the family plot in Long Island, NY.
