Lois married Clarence Metzler on September 28, 1944 in Albion, Michigan. Lois grew up in a home where music was an integral part of her life. In addition to piano, Lois played the cello as part of the orchestra program in school. After moving to Hart, Michigan with her husband, Clarence, Lois taught piano to many students until she and Clarence retired and moved to Florida. Lois also enjoyed her journals, poetry, and wordplay, particularly puns. Lois’s keen wit and humor remained with her until her passing.
After Clarence passed away in 1993, Lois was blessed with two very special men in her life, Louis Schwartz who passed away in 2008, and Joe Hubbard, whom she knew from her Albion days.
She is survived by her loving companion, Joe Hubbard; her loving children, Eric (Pat) Metzler of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Alyson (Jim) Baker of Dent, Minnesota; Todd (Regina) Metzler of Hart, Michigan; and Mitzi Metzler (special friend Jeff) of Iron Mountain, Michigan; six grand children, Meredith, Nicole, Bryan, Myles, Mason, and Riah; and nine great grand children.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Harold Metzler; and two sisters, Mary Bastian Fiendt and Mildred Bastian Bradley
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday June 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Unity Church in the Woods, 4200 32 St W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
