Kathy was a Realtor in the Sarasota Bradenton area for 30 years. Her professional tagline described her best; "Everyone has a life story and I want to listen to yours. And, together we will find you a home that continues your story"
She co-founded the Sarasota Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and served on its board for many years. She headed Government Relations for the State of Florida on behalf of the chapter. Kathy was an avid tennis player, loved the outdoors, dedicated mother, and was an amazingly compassionate person. She loved her non-denominational church's especially Bayside Community Church. Her personal goal was to be a Blessing and a Friend to everyone she met.
The survivors include husband Richard Herbst, her children Jillian, Patrick, Mariah Heppe (Adam), Richard Herbst-Estes (Meriden), Stephanie Jasper and 3 grandchildren. Her siblings Russ Pressly (Cheryl), Ben Pressly, Jason Pressly, Peggy Walker (Clyde), Paula Strange (Cecil), Jeff Walker (Mary), Clyde Walker (Peggy), step-mother June Pressly, and in-laws Richard & Rita Herbst.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Pressly, Ruby Jackson Pressly Walker, and William T. Walker.
Family and Friends will be received on June 9, 2019 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at East Sarasota Bayside Community Church, 8200 Bee Ridge Rd. Sarasota FL 34241. "Celebration of Life" service will start at 3:00 p.m. fellowship and food will follow. Family asks for donations to Tampa Bay JDRF.
