John was born on June 30, 1953 in New Haven Connecticut, the son of Harold R. Pinkerton and Deborah F. Pinkerton. After living for a time in Naperville, Illinois, John’s family moved to Bradenton, Florida. He graduated from Manatee High School and received his associate degree from State College of Florida. John then transferred to Florida State University where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. At FSU John met his beloved wife, Bonnie. They were married 42 years ago in Tallahassee and lived there until returning to Bradenton in 1980.
John worked as a sales representative for several large commercial landscaping companies where he earned many awards for top sales in the nation. John was a loyal Seminole football fan and he and the family attended many football games throughout the years. He loved being with his children and was an avid hockey and dance dad. He also enjoyed cars, motorcycles, farming, the music of Bruce Springsteen and, over the years, raising their five adored Doberman Pinchers.
John was always generous with his time and talents, offering to help friends or family with any project, large or small. One of John’s greatest joys was becoming “Papa” to his three grandchildren and spending time with them.
John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his son, Jeremy Pinkerton (Britanny), his daughter, Lindsey Harrington (Zack); his grandchildren, William John Harrington, Carter Joseph Pinkerton, Ryan Harper Pinkerton; his sister Sue Pinkerton (Maryanne Mica) of St Louis and his much loved extended family members.
