He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 11, 1935, the son of Elbert J. Stewart and Ardella Steele.
On June 30, 1954 Jack married Darlene Sheffstall. They were married 66 years until her death last year.
Jack graduated from Hamilton High School and attended Miami University for Paper Technology courses.
Jack was a senior customer service analyst for Champion International Paper Company in Hamilton, Ohio, retiring in 1993 after 40 years. Jack and Darlene moved to Bradenton following retiring. Their children soon followed.
Jack was a Master Mason, Grand Lodge of Ohio and a member of Cincinnati Scottish Rite and Syrian Temple. He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel for his outstanding service to his community and civil society.
Jack is survived by his granddaughter, Angela Reasch; his son in law, Thomas Reasch; his great grandchildren, Morgan and Joshua Garret, whom he cared for in his home after the death of their parents; his brother, Pastor Ron Stewart and his wife, Melanie; sisters, Joy Schatz and Gayle Cook; special aunt, Mary Ellen Smart; many nephews and nieces, many friends and his neighbors that he always bragged were the best.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Brenda Kay Smith and Jackie Lee Reed; his grandson, Michael Garret and his wife Jaimie; his brothers, Elbert "Junior" Stewart, infant Darrell Ray Stewart, and his sister, Mary "Skeeter" Frederick Meyer.
Jack was a man of his word and lived a life of integrity. He often said he did not exaggerate. He spent his life helping others. He could have been a wealthy man, but instead chose to help whomever he could financially and did it freely.
He was a steadfast rock for his family and friends. He also had a dry sense of humor and was always good for a laugh.
He will be missed.
