Georgette Pauline Modugno

Georgette Modugno, 91, of Sarasota, FL passed on December 19, 2019. Born in Putnam, CT on June 22, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert and Germaine Demers. She married her former husband, Michael Modugno, and raised her family in South Windsor, CT where she resided most of her life. Georgette was a hairdresser by trade, but was known for her baking. Her cheesecake was one of her specialties. She loved her home and enjoyed going to the park to walk her three best friends, the predeceased Coco, Sassoon, and Samantha. In 2017, she relocated to beautiful Sarasota to enjoy walking in the sunshine. She is survived by her two children, Rose Mary Wormstedt of Broad Brook, CT and her son, Joseph Modugno and his wife, Susan, of Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren: Robert Wormstedt, Michael Wormstedt, and Regina Agey, all of Broad Brook, CT and Dr. Matthew Modugno and his fiancé, Megan Willison, both of Conshohocken, PA. In addition, there are five great grandchildren: Amber, Cearra, Kayla, Jordan, and Lillian; and one great-great grandchild, Jacob. She was predeceased by her brother Maurice Demers; sister, Jacqueline Kilty; brother, Jean Paul Demers; son-in-law, Gary Wormstedt; and great-granddaughter, Brooke Wormstedt. There will be no local funeral services, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date in Sarasota, FL. She loved getting cards.
