Donald Arthur Roy

Donald Arthur Roy, 76, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 27, 2023. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Imelda Roy. Don is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; Sons, Todd, Keith, and Tyler; Granddaughters Ashley Roy and Kayla Howard; Sister Connie (Ralph), Brothers, Richard (Gloria) and Robert (Mary).

Don was born in Northampton, MA. He proudly served in Vietnam at Da Nang Air Force base from 1966 until 1968. Don went on to serve at numerous Air Force bases in the United States, and was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal for Meritorious Service. After serving in the Air Force, Don had quite a diverse career.

After leaving the Air Force, he served as a city Police officer in Northampton, MA. After graduating from Springfield Technical College, he moved to Florida. He began working as a paramedic at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, FL. From there, he went to Hillsborough County Mosquito Control and retired in 2011. After retirement, he established Roy & Co, Inc. landscaping in Tampa, FL.

A Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church at 10:30 am with a reception to follow in the Parish Center. Afterwards, a committal service with Honors will be at The Sarasota National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society ( https://www.cancer.org/ ).
