Beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2019 in Sarasota, FL. David was born on August 27th, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Richard Coleman and Helen Marie Coleman.
A longtime resident of Michigan, David moved to Florida in 2007 to become manager of Security 1st Storage, a family business. David was an immediate hit; customers loved his winning personality, his jokes and his sincere care for all individuals, not to mention his infectious smile which he shared freely at no charge.
David was a down to earth kind of guy who treasured a simple life. On most Sundays, if not working, you could find him at his favorite beach in Siesta Key then he moved on to his favorite restaurant for clam chowder. He was a sports lover; a Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Tigers fan who also loved golf and was elated to see Tiger Woods win the Masters.
He was respected and loved by all and we were immeasurably blessed to have him in our lives.
David is survived by his daughters; Kelly Bennett, (Jeffrey) and Kylie Lock (Chuck), four precious grandchildren; Gloria, Ivy, Ezra and Oliver, siblings Michael James Coleman (Deborah) of Bradenton, FL, and Linda Sue Ann Prentice (Michael) of Clermont, FL, two nephews Scott Bohnsack of Tampa, FL and Brian Bohnsack, of Spring Hill, FL, one niece Mindy Marie Coleman of Burton, Mi and his girlfriend Sandy and their dog Buddy.
David will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18th at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. There will be a visitation at 10 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
