A loving mother and homemaker, Betty was always one to provide a kind ear. During her youth, she milked cows and loved working on the family farm in North Hampton, NH. She graduated Hampton Academy in 1957. Met and married Bart Seavey in 1957 and together they owned and operated Slumber Manor motel in North Hampton, NH. In the early 1980s they moved their family to Sarasota, FL in a converted school bus. She owned several rental properties in Bradenton for many years and worked hard to keep them maintained and rented. She also worked in manufacturing assembly jobs and was known for her dedication to a job well done. In 2001, Betty remarried to Larry Steger and moved to Moorehaven, FL in 2004. She and Larry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. After Larry’s passing in 2012, she moved back to the Bradenton area.
She is survived by her daughter Kari Lawson and her husband, Lou, her son, Scott Seavey and his wife, Jennifer, her two grandchildren, Hunter and Emmy and her faithful companion, Molly. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra King and her husband Kevin and brother, Danny Davis and his wife, June. She also has a niece and four nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Steger and first husband, Bart Seavey.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tidewell Hospice and Hawthorne Village for the excellent care and kindness provided to Betty for the last days and months of her life.
Visitation will be on Saturday January 5, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at The Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home 1221 53rd Ave E, Bradenton FL. Memorial service to follow at 4pm.
