Barbara Ann Piech of Lakewood Ranch, FL., passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and joyful tradition. Born in Chicago, IL., she earned her Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University and spent 25 years serving as a teacher for the Chicago Board of Education.
A woman of many talents, Barbara was an accomplished pianist, skilled seamstress, and master of stained glass. She also loved pottery, interior design, and the elegance of opera and symphony music. Her joyful spirit came alive on the polka dance floor and in the traditions, she lovingly passed down to her three daughters.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Thaddeus of 63 years; daughters Leslie Forsythe (Todd), Ellen Cocks (Stephen), and Lynn Leaf (Brian); eight grandchildren; Jason, Jessica, Ryan, Sarah, Alexander, Luke, Samuel, and Amanda. Five great-grandchildren; Zoey, Joseph, John, James, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Bieniarz, and her brother, Dennis Rogalski. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Active in her faith and community, Barbara touched many lives through her involvement with Our Lady of Hope, the Council of Catholic Women, and Pelican Bay Women’s Club.
