The son of the late Oliver and Dorothy Leister, he was married to Virginia M. Murphy until her death in 2011.
An all-around handyman, he spent his career as a crane operator with Superior Tube.
Walter is survived by two daughters, Diane Brinckman of Port Charlotte Florida and Barbara Bearde of Royersford; 3 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 siblings. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by a son, Walter Leister Jr.; a son-in-law, Raymond Brinckman II; a brother; and a sister.
A viewing will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday March 6 at Ott Funeral Home, Boyertown, followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM. Interment will follow at Keelor’s Union Cemetery, Obelisk.
