Richard Raymond Mease

Aka Dick Smith in his younger years. His first love was long distance swimming, with competitions at age 14 that led to Ron Regar River swims all the way to National Senior Olympics at age 71, thanks to a donated membership in the YMCA as a young boy.

He was employed at various industries as a pipefitter, last working for Glidden Paint in Reading for 28 years.

Born in Reading he was a son of the late Florence (Mease) Hart.

He was pre-deceased by his half-brother Robert Hart.

He is survived by his daughter Joan, wife of Robert Long of Hamburg, and grandchildren, Vincent Long and Vanessa Long. Stepchildren, Roger Botsford, Phillip Botsford and his wife Lisa, and Patricia (Botsford) Stilianos. Step grandchildren, Jessilyn and Casey Stilianos. Step great grandchildren, Kraven, Chase, and Lillian.

Arrangements by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown, PA. 19512.

Interment will be private at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring PA.
