Richard Hall Chamberlain, 89, of Boyertown, PA, passed away at home in the early hours of September 18, 2019.
Born in Woodbury Township, Blair County, PA, Richard was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Helen (Hall) Chamberlain and Harvey Gunnett Chamberlain. He was predeceased by his three siblings; sister Phyllis (Chamberlain) Shatzer, brother Harvey D. Chamberlain, and sister Rosemary (Chamberlain) Stout.
Devoted and loving husband of Mary E. (Mench) Chamberlain, his one true love. His adoring gaze cast upon her from the first moment he saw her and throughout their 68 years of marriage.
Proud father of three daughters, Koreen A. wife of John W. Buck of Bechtelsville, PA, Kathy S. wife of Richard P. Solliday of Pennsburg, PA, and Kelly D. wife of Robert A. Miller of Boyertown, PA.
Known as Pap to his 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his grandchildren will forever remember his smile and wink, camping and fishing in Delaware, learning life lessons and the satisfaction of an honest day’s work.
Always a hard-worker, Richard was employed as a Chief Lineman for Met Ed, later First Energy, from 1951 until his retirement in 1992. In his earlier years he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Altoona, PA.
Known for the love of his family and for the kindness shown to all who knew him.
Richard served as an Elder in the Boyertown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and he volunteered for many years on Kingdom Hall Construction projects.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Boyertown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1010 North Reading Ave, Boyertown, PA 19512.
