Merlyn was a long time resident of Collegeville, PA. She was born on January 22, 1936 in Duluth, MN to parents, Baldwin Johnson and Evelyn Chevalier Johnson. She was raised in Southern California, and developed a love of the ocean.
She was a retired employee of Sperry Univac Corporation in Fort Washington, PA. Merlyn had previously owned and operated a motel and restaurant in Texas. In her later years her passions where, flea marking and gardening. She developed may close friends in the flea market community. She was a member of Coventry Garden Club. Merlyn was noted for her great cooking and was known for her fudge. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains. She loved animals practically her cats.
Merlyn is survived by her son, Benjamin Evans of Collegeville, her daughters, Tonya Donaghy of Philadelphia, Wendi Lee Evans of Waco, TX and her brother Baldwin Johnson, of Royersford, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Denise and Eric.
A memorial gathering will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Chapel at the Limerick Gardens of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM.
