He was born on March 9, 1933 in Washington Township, Berks County to the late Helen (Gilberg) and Harvey R. Benfield.
John worked as a press operator at Bally Case and Cooler until he retired in 1995. He worked part time, evenings and his weekends, at the Bellavista Fruit Farm.
He was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Bally, PA. In his free time, he enjoyed browsing Jake’s Flea Market.
John is survived by his sister, Luella Spaar, wife of Dennis of Barto, PA; brothers, Arlan Benfield, husband of Ruth of Bally, PA, and Henry Benfield, husband of Shirley of Delaware. He is predeceased by his sisters, Anna Benfield and Grace (Benfield) Kightlinger.John is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church 610 Pine St. Bally, PA. On Saturday February 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at Church.
Interment will be in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery, Bally.
