James Joseph Aston Sr.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Thelma (Bender) and Jack Aston.

James was employed as a machinist for Tung Sol for 19 years. Later he was the owner and operator of the Hickory Park Restaurant for 22 years until his retirement.

James was a little league coach for Boyertown. He coached and was an umpire for the Tigers and Cubs for eight-year-olds at Boyertown for many years.

James is a member of St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church 200 Indian Spring Rd. Boyertown, PA. 19512.

James is survived by his sons, James J. Aston, Jr. of Gilbertsville and Thomas A. husband of Suzana Aston of Barto. Siblings, John T. Aston of Gilbertsville, Ethel Matayasovki of Boyertown, Phyllis Hetrick of Oley and Robert Aston of Boyertown. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Nicole Aston, Jack Aston, Kayla (Aston) Girard, and Stefani Atanasovska.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Columbkill RCC, Boyertown on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

Family and friends may call Friday at church from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.

Interment will be in Keelor’s Union Cemetery.
