Born in Boyertown, PA he was a son of the late Edna (Moyer) and Harold T. Landis, Sr.
He was a graduate of Boyertown Senior High School Class of 1948 and played trombone in the Band. He is a member of St Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown. Harold served in the US Air force as an Airman First Class during the Berlin Airlift. He worked briefly as a carpenter at Bethlehem Steel and then started his own business, as owner of Harold T. Landis Building Contractor for almost 40 years he designed and built many beautiful custom homes throughout the area. He loved flying and owned his own plane, a Piper Cherokee 180. Along with his wife he also enjoyed building and restoring furniture for his family and friends. Harold was a life member and past commander of the American Legion post 471.He was also a member of the Lions Club, VFW and he was the Business Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 36 in Gilbertsville.
Surviving with his wife, Stella is a daughter, Valerie L. Landis of Phoenixville; a son, Thomas B., husband of Leigh Anne (Maggio) Landis; grandchildren, Allyssa and Hunter Landis; also survived by his nieces, nephews and their families. Harold is predeceased by his brother, Donald Landis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. at the church.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
