Gail (Kanengeiser) Arnold, age 76 of Macungie, PA passed on to her Heavenly Home on Friday, July 28, 2023 in her residence. Born in Norristown, PA on January 19, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Virginia (Cummings) and Herbert Cornelius Kanengeiser.
After graduating from Lankenau School for Girls in 1965, Gail attended Rider College. She worked at Hamilton Reliance Bank as a Controller for many years and retired when her three children were young. Together, they enjoyed time in Ocean City, NJ, local historical sites, and making memories at home. Gail lived a very gracious, selfless life, always there for her family and friends. Together, they could often be found playing games, reading stories, or enjoying countless hours visiting around the old farm table.
Gail had a love for literature and wrote beautiful prose and poetry. She loved going antiquing, listening to music, and bird watching – all pastimes that she shared with her children and grandchildren. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy and she never took her time with them for granted.
Gail lived a life of unshakeable faith, even in the hardest of times. She loved the Lord and was often heard talking about His immeasurable goodness to her. We give thanks for her life lived in that faith to the glory of God and in service to God’s people. She was an active member of the Boyertown Mennonite Church. She held many positions over her years there, including Treasurer, but most enjoyed her time spent quilting and teaching Vacation Bible School.
Gail is survived by her loving children, a son, David Arnold, husband of Janine of Easton, PA, and two daughters, Sarah Godshall, wife of Lon of Macungie, PA, and Abigail Molina, wife of Douglas of Souderton, PA. She also leaves behind a sister, Sallie Degler; and grandchildren, Josiah, Matthias, Neriah, Michael, Daniel, Emily, Annie, and Emma. Gail is predeceased by her grandson, Matthew Godshall; and former husband, Martin L. Arnold III.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Boyertown Mennonite Church (275 Mill St, Boyertown, PA 19512). Prior there will be a visitation at the church from 10am to 11am. Burial will be at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
