Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Florence (Rhoads) Stark and Henry Stark.
David graduated from Boyertown High School in 1960. He then attended technical school in Allentown.
David served overseas in the U.S. Army 101" ABN DIV during the Vietnam War.
David was employed by Tung Sol, Frederick Planing Mill, Boyertown Packaging and as a moulding machine operator at Boyertown Planing Mill, until his retirement.
David was assistant coach for his son's baseball team in Pine Forge. He started racing late models at Grandview Speedway in 1971 and earned feature victories over the years.
David was a member of the National Carousel Association, Pikeville Sportsmen's Club and Saxton Sportsmen's Club.
David had many interests. He loved gardening and growing hot peppers, running his Lionel trains and watching birds. He loved cats. He collected antique carousel horses and antique slot machines. He loved vacationing in the Florida Keys, where he and Marcia married, and camping and boating at Raystown Lake.
He is survived by his children, Steve Cassady of Eugene, Oregon. Christopher D. Stark husband of Tanya Stark of Reading and Shannon M. wife of Matthew Augustine of Boyertown. Grandchildren, David Wagner, Shayna Wagner, Devin Stark, Tristen Hite and Eliotte Augustine. Great grandchildren, Scarlett Morris, Charlie Wagner and one on the way. He is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Rohrbach.
A visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2022 between 10:00-11:00 at the funeral home. A
funeral service will be 11:00 AM at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown. The Reverend Dr. Robert D. Machamer, Jr. will officiate.
